toabroadernetworkof support. Asahealth
careprovider, AspirusWausauHospitalprovides
importantmedical care tovictims,but italso
ispartof a largercommunity response team.
This teamcan include lawenforcement, social
services, TheWomen’sCommunityandother
agenciesand resources from thearea.
Through thiscommunity response team,people
get thesupport theyneedandare informedabout
theiroptions.Peopleoftendon’tknowall of the
resourcesavailable to them in theircommunity.
Havinga teamavailable tohelp removes the
burdenof searching forhelponyourown.
Going forward
Sadly, theneed fordedicatedservices forvictims
of sexual assaultandabuse isgrowing. Thankfully,
becauseof thesupportofourcommunity
through theAspirusWomen’sGolfClassic,
AspirusWausauHospital’sSANEprogram iswell
positioned tomeet theneed.
