In a trauma every second counts. That is why the Aspirus Trauma Center is committed to delivering the best care in the face of an emergency.
Aspirus has been verified as a Level II trauma center by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma (COT) recognizing the trauma center’s dedication to providing optimal care for injured patients.
The Aspirus Trauma Center is in a constant state of readiness 24-hours a day. Before a patient arrives, our trauma team is fully prepared and assembled in the trauma room, ready to treat traumatic injuries that often require immediate and complex intervention to save patients lives.
The Level II trauma team at Aspirus Wausau Hospital provides a full spectrum of care that addresses the needs of all injured patients. This includes the entire continuum of care from the time of injury through rehabilitation.
A trauma center is not only an emergency department, but a dedicated facility capable of highly specialized and timely treatment for the most critical of injuries. Designation as a Level II Trauma Center guarantees that the hospital has adequate resources to deal with severely injured patients at all times.
