Walter's Aspirus Story - Pharmacist helps him manage his diabetes
Upon being diagnosed with diabetes in late January 2015, Walter Schoepke, of Medford, sat down with Peter Kiefer, RPh, pharmacist at Aspirus Pharmacy in Medford, to learn how to manage his disease.
“Peter jumped right in,” recalls Walter’s wife, Lois. “He is patient, knowledgeable and willing to do whatever he can to help Walter.”
“Whatever he can” includes a phone call every morning to check on Walter’s blood sugar levels from the previous day to make sure everything is on track. It also includes multiple house calls every week.
“He stops by and fills three or four days’ worth of insulin pens at a time so they’re premeasured and ready to go when Walter needs to inject his insulin,” Lois says.
“With Pete and Aspirus Pharmacy, you know you’ll never walk alone; they’re always by your side. Pete would go to the ends of the earth to help you succeed.”
