Aspirus Wausau Hospital is the proud leader of the Safe Kids Marathon County. Safe Kids Marathon County works to prevent unintentional childhood injury, the number one cause of death for children in the United States.
To help reduce the impact of injuries, Safe Kids Marathon County partners work together to provide education and programming to reduce traffic injuries, recreation injuries, drownings, poisonings, falls, burns, and more. Car Seat Checks By Appointment
At a Car Seat Check Appointment, a nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) will provide education on best practices for the safe transportation of children. The role of a CPST is to educate caregivers – not to install car seats. The goal of a car seat check is for caregivers to leave better educated and confident in their skills to correctly install and use their child’s car seat on their own. Most car seat manufacturers post instructional videos on their websites and social media outlets, as well. Many also offer virtual car seat checks by appointment.
