Aspirus Health is excited to announce a specialized Sports Injury Clinic and Prevention Event aimed at helping local athletes stay healthy and perform at their best.
The event will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 1:00 to 5:30 PM at Aspirus Outpatient Therapies and Fitness Center - Calumet.
With programming best suited for athletes in grades 7-12, as well as parents and coaches, it will provide valuable education on injury prevention and rehabilitation for a wide range of sports, including but not limited to football, basketball, hockey, track, gymnastics, volleyball, baseball, and more.
Participants are encouraged to bring athletic attire and proper footwear for hands-on exercises during the clinic. This event is designed to educate athletes on how to prevent injuries, enhance their performance, and recover more quickly when injuries do occur.
“As student athletes push their bodies to the limit in competition, it’s crucial to understand how to avoid common injuries, “said Brett Gervais, DPT, Physical Therapist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist at Aspirus Health. “Our goal is to provide practical education that empowers athletes to take care of their bodies, stay in the game longer, and recover more effectively to ensure that they can pursue their passion without being sidelined by injuries.
Sports injuries can be devastating for athletes, often leading to missed seasons, long recovery times, and even permanent damage if not treated properly.
With the right prevention techniques, athletes can reduce the risk of injury, improve their strength, and enhance their overall performance,” said Gervais. “Whether it’s preventing common injuries like sprains, strains, or concussions, or learning strategies to stay at the top of their game, Aspirus is dedicated to providing the tools and knowledge athletes need to succeed.”
The clinic will provide expert advice and hands-on experience in injury prevention techniques, allowing athletes to build strength and flexibility while learning the proper methods to prevent long-term damage.
Aspirus’ experienced physical therapists, work closely with athletes, coaches, and families to develop effective treatment and prevention strategies.
