New Medication Drop Box Ensures Safety in Columbia County

Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital and Clinics partnered with Prevention and Response Columbia County (a substance use prevention coalition) to provide the Portage Police Department with a much-needed medication drop box. This durable drop box will serve the community for years to come, offering a safe and secure way to dispose of unused or expired medications. 

 

Medication drop boxes play a crucial role in substance use prevention by allowing individuals to safely remove medications from their homes, reducing the risk of misuse or accidental exposure. 

 

They also help protect the environment by preventing medications from entering the wastewater system. 

 

This is a great example of community partners connecting to make positive changes within Columbia County.
