Portage Education Program to Focus on Relief from Back Pain

(Portage, WI)-  For those struggling with back pain, whether caused by a recent injury or ongoing discomfort, understanding the source of the pain is crucial to finding an effective treatment. 

On Thursday, March 20th Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital is hosting an informative session designed to help individuals better manage and overcome back pain. 

Pain medicine specialist Sean MacKenzie, M.D., will lead an insightful discussion on the different causes of back pain and the most effective treatment options.

This program will explore the distinctions between acute and chronic back pain, various treatment solutions ranging from medications, physical therapy, and injections to surgery, and practical tips for managing and preventing pain. 

Dr. MacKenzie and Aspirus Divine Savior Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation specialists will provide expert insights to help attendees better understand how to manage their condition and improve their quality of life.

The program will be held from 5:30 – 6: 30 p.m. at Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital and Clinic Entrance A-Lower Level, 2817 New Pinery Road. 

This is a free program, but advanced registration is requested by calling 608.745.3868 between the hours of 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. 

When registering, ask about a no-cost physical therapy back or neck pain screening, which includes a discussion of your pain, movement and a strength assessment.  Space for this screening is limited, so those interested in the screening should register early.
