How to Wash Your Face
Washing your face doesn’t need to be complicated. Try these simple tips:
- Wash your face twice a day and after exercising. Any more than that is not necessary and may cause your skin to dry out.
- Wash with lukewarm water and apply cleanser with your fingertips using a small circular motion for 20 to 30 seconds. That is enough time to get your skin clean.
- Use a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser geared for your skin type.
- Exfoliate a few times a week. Having an exfoliator in your cleanser may seem like a time-saver, but it may be too hard on your skin if used daily.
- Resist the urge to scrub your skin. It can cause irritation.
- Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a towel, leaving your skin slightly damp.
- Apply moisturizer while your skin is still damp. This will lock in even more moisture.
- Consider changing your face towel after a few uses. Reusing the same face towel may spread bacteria to your face.
