Aspirus Langlade Therapists Achieve Oncology Certifications

Three therapists from Aspirus Langlade Hospital have successfully achieved certification as Oncology Rehabilitation Specialists from the Physiological Oncology Rehabilitation Institute (PORi).

With staff holding these certifications, Aspirus Langlade Hospital now meets the standards to classify as an Oncology Rehabilitation Center of Excellence.

Speech Therapist Annika Fox earned her PORi certification in head and neck cancer.  Physical Therapist Jessica Brandt earned her certification in pelvic cancer and lower extremity rehabilitation. Occupational Therapist Maureen Winter’s certification includes breast cancer and is in addition to her status as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist.

“In attaining this certification, our therapists completed a comprehensive curriculum that provides them with the clinical skills to treat all patients with a cancer diagnosis,” said Erik Yuska, Manager-Therapist Services, Aspirus Langlade Hospital. “We can provide support from diagnosis through treatment into post-treatment survivorship.”
